Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these really anonymous?
- Absolutely. When something is entered on the form, a script sends the contents to a secret email address that only we can access. All the email headers and body information is identical, as all emails originate from this website; thus nothing is sent that can personally identify any user. After that point, the confessions are manually added to the database after an arbitrary and random amount of time has passed, and in a different order than they were submitted. There is no possible way for us, or anyone else, to connect any confession with the person who submitted the confession.
- What about the log files?
- Log files are kept for three days and then discarded; this is a hosting company policy. As of September 2007, unburdened.net averages more than two thousand hits per day. Even if the confessions arrived at the email address the same second they were submitted (which they do not), the number of daily hits is so great that no single IP can be matched to any single confession. Due to the variability built into the system, the logs can only be used to determine the broad traffic statistics of the site, and not any single individual user or their actions.
- What if I'm still paranoid?
- Your best solution is to visit Anonymouse which will shield your IP address. Another alternative is the fantastic Tor service, a better option if you plan to do a lot of anonymous browsing.
- There are a ton of these websites, why should I read this one?
- As of now, that's up to you. Hopefully this website is tailored more to your liking, and you find the contents interesting. Originally the appeal was that the confessions were all made by forum users on the Fazed.net online community. At any point, it could be the person you just chatted with who was confessing to trotting around in women's panties, or having a perversion involving watermelons.
- Will you be accepting donations?
- Costs here are low, and we do fine without much income. However, we very much welcome donations to the site; anything we receive, we forward to Fazed.net as a courtesy.
